This role exists to bring control, clarity and ownership to a growing, multi-country payroll landscape.
As Global Payroll Specialist, you will own end-to-end payroll operations across seven jurisdictions - working with external providers, internal Finance and HR teams, and country leaders to ensure accuracy, compliance and continuous improvement.
This is not a transactional processing role.
It is a hands-on ownership role.
You will:
Ensure payroll runs flawlessly across multiple currencies
Build robust controls across different regulatory environments
Strengthen processes as we scale into new countries
Be the trusted point of contact when payroll questions matter
As we expand internationally, payroll accuracy and indirect tax compliance increasingly intersect - giving this role scope beyond pure payroll into broader finance control disciplines.

What You’ll Own
Global Payroll Operations
Manage monthly and fortnightly payroll cycles across all international entities via external providers
Prepare and submit payroll inputs including salary changes, starters, leavers, bonuses and deductions
Review and validate payroll outputs, resolving discrepancies before approval
Approve salary and tax payments across multiple currencies, ensuring funds clear accurately and on time
Compliance & Control
Maintain strong internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy across jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with tax and employment regulations in each country
Support audits with well-organised, reconciled and audit-ready documentation
Assist with payroll setup as we expand into new countries
VAT & Indirect Tax Support (Beneficial Scope)
Support VAT return preparation and indirect tax compliance across jurisdictions
Assist with documentation and reconciliations supporting cross-border transactions
Work alongside the wider Finance team to ensure VAT and payroll-related tax exposures are well managed
Contribute to building a strong, scalable international finance control environment
Reporting & Reconciliation
Post payroll journals into ERP and reconcile payroll control accounts
Prepare payroll variance analysis and period-end reconciliations
Provide clear reporting and commentary to Finance leadership
Benefits & Employee Support
Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related employee queries
Manage payroll-linked benefits (pension, health insurance, BIK, etc.)
Deliver responsive, professional support across jurisdictions
Process & Vendor Management
Own relationships with external payroll providers, managing performance against SLAs
Identify process improvement and automation opportunities
Work closely with HR to ensure master data integrity before payroll cut-offs
What You Bring
You’ve worked in payroll, HR or finance - ideally in a multi-country environment where accuracy truly mattered.
You bring:
Proven experience managing payroll across multiple jurisdictions
Strong understanding of payroll accounting and GL reconciliation
ERP experience for payroll posting and cost coding
Confidence dealing with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders
A highly organised, deadline-driven mindset
Comfort working across multiple currencies and regulatory systems
And ideally…
You’ve had exposure to VAT or indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Not necessarily as your primary role - but enough to understand:
Cross-border VAT mechanics
Filing cycles and local compliance nuances
The importance of documentation and audit readiness
How payroll, benefits and cross-border structures can intersect with tax exposure
If you bring both payroll depth and VAT/indirect tax awareness, you’ll play an even broader role in strengthening our global finance control environment.
Experience with European payroll (particularly France) is a strong advantage.
