About Life Scientific
At Life Scientific, we're doing things differently - very differently. We've disrupted a $250 billion global market and are on a mission to become the world's most successful crop protection innovator.
We’re scaling fast and globally. The UK is one of our most established markets, with a growing portfolio of off-patent fungicides, herbicides and insecticides already trusted by growers and distributors across the country - and we're not slowing down.
Our business is deeply human, powered by shared leadership, sharp minds, and a sense of fun. We combine the pace of a start-up with the strength of a scale-up. No politics. No passengers. Just passionate people doing great work.
About the Role
This role isn't just about sales - it's about impact and influence. You'll be a key face of Life Scientific in the UK, driving commercial growth while deepening our credibility with distributors, growers, and technical influencers in a well-established but fiercely competitive market.
We're looking for someone who blends commercial acumen with agronomic expertise - someone who can sell, educate, and partner with key players across the UK arable sector. You'll work closely with our national distribution partners and collaborate across our global teams to sharpen our UK go-to-market approach as we continue to grow our footprint.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive Growth and Market Penetration
Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and gross margin targets across UK arable regions.
Deepen and expand relationships with existing national distribution partners (including Hutchinsons and Agrii) and identify opportunities for direct customer engagement.
Grow market share within key cereal and oilseed rape growing regions, and identify white space for portfolio expansion.
2. Build Lasting Relationships
Strengthen trusted partnerships with distributors, co-operatives, and growers across the UK.
Foster engagement with UK agricultural research and education bodies (e.g. Harper Adams University, Rothamsted Research, NIAB) to support product credibility and inclusion in local agronomy recommendations.
Represent Life Scientific with professionalism and authenticity - because people do business with people.
3. Partner Across Teams
Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing, Agronomy, and Supply Chain to align product availability and positioning with customer needs.
Contribute to UK go-to-market planning, sharing field insights and market intelligence to shape product launch priorities and messaging.
4. Technical Agronomy Leadership
Serve as a technical resource to customers, demonstrating strong agronomic understanding of UK arable crops (wheat, barley and oilseed rape required; potatoes, sugar beet, and other specialty crops preferred).
Provide informed input on key regional issues such as grassweed control (including blackgrass), Septoria management in cereals, and Sclerotinia control in oilseed rape.
Support distributor training and product performance discussions.
Act as the liaison between commercial and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, including product handling or performance concerns in the field.
5. Performance and Execution
Track and analyse sales performance using available tools (Excel, CRM-in-development, etc.), and report insights to leadership.
Contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and data systems as the UK business scales.
What You'll Bring
Proven sales experience within crop protection, agrochemicals, or related agribusiness sectors.
Strong agronomic foundation in UK arable crops, ideally with exposure to both cereals and oilseed rape.
Existing relationships with UK distributors, co-operatives, and growers - and the ability to deepen and grow them.
Collaborative mindset: able to bridge technical and commercial conversations seamlessly.
Entrepreneurial drive: resourceful and comfortable growing share in a competitive, established market.
Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and technical.
Adaptability in a fast-moving, evolving organisation.
Familiarity with UK agricultural research and advisory networks (e.g. Harper Adams, Rothamsted, NIAB, AHDB) is a strong advantage.
Understanding of UK/CRD regulatory context for off-patent plant protection products is a plus.
A willingness to travel regionally as required.
