Marketing Manager - North America
At Life Scientific, you’re never just a number (we’ve got plenty of those in Finance). You’ll have influence, autonomy, and the chance to shape something global with people who genuinely care.
Marketing Manager - North America
Two countries. One launch pad for the future.
North America is Life Scientific's newest region and the one with the most room to grow... The products are strong. What's needed now is someone on the ground who can make it land with retailers and growers in Canada and in the United States.
Life Scientific operates in the $250 billion global crop protection market. We reverse-engineer off-patent products with real scientific rigor and bring them to growers through distributors and retail partners. Independently owned and fiercely ambitious, we're scaling fast across Europe and North America.
Global Marketing owns how Life Scientific shows up at every touchpoint - growers, distributors and partners - in every market we sell into. Strategy is set globally, and regions bring it to life. Marketing here is a commercial function. The work is judged on how it helps grow our share.
We combine the pace of a start-up with the discipline of a scale-up. No politics. No passengers.
This role sits close to our North American commercial leaders and far enough from Dublin that judgement matters every day. We're looking for someone who can take a central strategy and make it work locally without rewriting it. Someone who knows Canada and the US are two markets, not one. Someone who holds agencies to schedule and budget and who can say no to a request that doesn't serve the plan and can explain why.
This is a chance to shape the marketing function for a region, not just run it.
Sound like you?
What you'll be doing
Bringing the Global Strategy to North America
Contributing to the global marketing strategy, then interpreting and activating it across North America
Scaling what works: bringing proven approaches from other regions in without rebuilding them, and sharing North American results in a form others can reuse
Collaborating across the function and other regions by default, because duplicated effort is the biggest efficiency loss a team this size can make
Bringing commercial thinking to every plan and every activation decision
Contributing to the whole being more than the sum of its parts
Plans, Budget & Reporting
Building and running separate annual marketing plans for Canada and the United States
Reporting on activity, spend and performance at a cadence that is right for the business.
Holding budget authority for North American marketing spend within the agreed plan and approval process
Tracking committed, in-flight, and spent budget, and flagging run-rate issues early
Content, Campaigns & Events
Owning editorial content and the North American content and activation calendar
Keeping regional website content current
Developing, writing, and editing blog and campaign content with agronomy colleagues as subject-matter experts
Running seasonal campaigns, priority product and partner promotions, and the regional events programme, from planning through on-site delivery to follow-up
Agencies & Media
Managing North American agency and media relationships day to day: briefs, schedules, delivery, and quality
Commissioning creative through the Creative & Design Lead, so every agency works to one brand system
Supporting the commercial team and cross-functional partners
Partnering with the North American commercial group, with country sales leads and the Commercial Intelligence Group as key stakeholders
Prioritising inbound sales enablement and activation requests against the plan, and standing behind go/no-go decisions
Collaborating with the Product Marketing Lead, the Creative & Design Lead, and the Commercial Intelligence Group
Giving sales teams the brand and narrative guidance and the resources to build their own materials
Working across North American and European time zones with a rhythm that works in both directions
What we're looking for
Five or more years in marketing delivery in agriculture, crop protection, or a comparable B2B sector selling through distributors or retail channels
Someone who sees how things have always been done and is ready to try new things.
Experience activating a central strategy in a region, with the discipline not to rewrite it locally
A track record of managing agencies and media partners to schedule, budget, and reporting
A strong writer and editor who can turn agronomy into copy a grower or retailer will actually read
A working understanding of both the Canadian and US markets and how they differ
The independence to work at a distance from the wider team and the judgement to know what needs escalating
The confidence to push back on a commercial request that doesn't serve the plan and explain why
The experience of knowing where to compromise while driving, changing, and new ways of working.
End-to-end campaign and event delivery experience
Technical competency and appetite to find ways to scale capability with technology.
